Fastner Leichtmetalltechnik has received approval to carry out welding work for the Deutsche Bahn AG, and is therefore certified as a welding business for the production of components for rail vehicles and other vehicles operated by the railways.
 

New long goods storage system from Kasto

For Fastner “always being on the ball” means continual further development. The investment in the “Unitop” automatic high-rise storage system from Kasto is an important step in this direction. It enables an accurate overview of current stock levels, and provides the requested stock item to the unloading device within 120 sec. The fully automatic system works accurately and increases the material flow enormously. The individual cassettes (68 pcs.) can hold a double load, and offer space for aluminium profiles up to 6 m long; the maximum load of a cassette is 1.5 t.
 

FASTNER machine park further improved with new bending centre and robot welding system

In the course of the latest investment, production facilities have been slimmed down further, and at the same time extended, enabling FASTNER to consolidate further the leading status of its technology.

Our new bending centre for extruded aluminium profiles is particularly important, although no less so than our new computer-controlled robot welding system. This system ensures the perfect welding of cast aluminium parts with aluminium profiles in multi-shift operation.


 

Maximum position and quality assurance
with the aid of new measuring instruments

Two new measuring machines and a new measuring arm guarantee that the high manufacturing quality at FASTNER can be assured even more easily in future, because all three new machines work with the same software, allowing measurements to be performed irrespective of the device.
 

New high-performance cleaning system produces "clinically" clean
light metal components.

Fastner now supplies finished light metal components almost "as clean as surgical instruments". Our "Dürr Universal 81W" industrial precision cleaning system reduces dirt particles to an absolute minimum using a multi-stage washing and rinsing process followed by hot-air and vacuum drying.

The waste-water-free operation with integral filter system and oil separator ensures environmentally-friendly treatment. Yet another six-figure investment as part of the Fastner quality philosophy!
